Guess what....

So guess what.. I went for an interview in "Ogilvy & Mather" and "Foetus International" and.......................................... I GOT THEM BOTH! hahaha.. so now its my turn to choose. Its really an achievement for me cause both of them are huge huge companies. Being able to join them for an internship is really a very good opportunity.

Well let me share a little about the interview.

The interview in Foetus International was actually my baby's initiative.
I went to the company with her for her interview as she has applied for
that company. Then when I was just sitting there and waiting.. Suddenly,
Ms.Yan Yan, the Senior HR Manager asked me to come in. I went in puzzled.
Suddenly she says she want to interview me. So we chatted for a while about
myself and walla... I got the job.. hahaha.. She offered me an intern in either
the Public Relations department or the Strategic Planning Department..

Now the interview with Ogilvy & Mather... One word to describe.. SCARY...
The lady who interviewed me is Melissa... Yea.. we chatted and we laughed but
her questions are so scary. So here is some of them..

Mel: So if I were to accept you to our company, what can you contribute?

Matt: (Dumbfounded) Hmm... I am a problem solver, so maybe you guys can pass me your projects and I'll read them through and give you my input... And you can correct my input if its wrong..

Mel: Hmmm... <---------- crazy.. I was like so scared... of her reaction)

Mel: So would you like to be on the corporate PR department or the consumer PR deparment?

Matt: I would prefer the Corporate Pr department as its my dream.

Mel: So tell me the difference between corporate PR and consumer PR.

Matt: *Eyes enlarge, brain dead, pulse increasing!.. my goodness... my lecturer never taught me that in college!! hahaha.. damn...
*Clearing throat* Well corporate PR is when you represent your client to deal with other companies in negotiating deals or building a relationship with the other company. For consumer PR it will be you representing your company to deal with the customers and the publics of your company.

Mel:........ (<------------- why this reaction again la dei!! SCARY WEI) *nods*

Matt: Phiew..

Mel: Well you say you're a problem solver right, let me give you a situation of a crisis. Let's say company A which is a restaurant. Their customer found a piece of glass in their meal and it cut his tongue and he is bleeding all over. and he went to the media and made a hooo-haaa... so what are you going to do..

Matt: *deciding whether I should be ethical or not.. * Decides to be ethical for an interview* hahaha... cause if its unethical, i will just say, we'll use our connections with the media and ask them not to publish that story anymore.. nevermind, let me go on with the ethical method... Well we should give the person compensation a little bit more than what he deserves to calm him down. Then ask the CEO to go to the press and apologies and say that this is the first time it happened and explains that it is an accident and that the management will make sure that it will never happen again... *smiles*

Mel: Hmm.. that is what a normal PR will do...

Matt: *faints*

Mel: We will manage it differently.. we use the connections with the media to close the case.. the media then didn't publish the news... The company has a no apology policy so the apology can't work.

Matt: *Slaps forehead*

Mel: Well all these need media contacts, how many contacts do you have?

Matt: *Smacks* er.... er... i went to the ntv7 breakfast show before for walkabrella.. so i know the station manager?

Mel: Only 1??? *BIG REACTION*

Matt: Er.. ya.. well i believe that er.. one contact can link to many other contacts.. its like a network.. so.. hehehe

Mel: Er, i need to tell you that when you are working in the corporate pr department, there are majority girls in the department.. are you comfortable with females? ahahhaha

Matt: *what the hell look* *thinking to myself, what kind of question is this* -_-lll Oh yes. it shouldnt be a problem. don't worry.

Mel: I'm just worried that you break my girls heart.. cannot ar.. hahahaha

Matt: har.. why should I break their heart? hahahhaa

Mel: joking la..

Matt: hehe..

Mel: Well based on the interview today I would say YES to you. So wait for our official answer next week ya.
